Benzyl triphenyl phosphonium chloride finds use in the synthesis of chemical compounds as a reactant. This reactant is also used in synthesis of pentiptycenes, archipelago structures to form petroleum asphaltenes, trans-stilbenes and cinnamates by Wittig olefination, platinum chloro-tetrazole complexes by azidation, and Achiral N-hydroxyformamide inhibitors of ADAM-TS4 and ADAM-TS5.
