1, 6-Dibromohexane is a chemical compound that is used in the introduction of C6 spacer in the molecular architecture. It finds use in synthesis of water-soluble thermoresponsive polylactides, pyrrolo-tetrathiafulvalene molecular bridge, cross-linkable regioregular poly(3-(5-hexenyl)thiophene) (P3HNT) and solvent processable and conductive polyfluorene ionomers. It is also used as a reagent to synthesize novel benzo[b]xanthone derivatives that have a potential antitumor activity. It works as a cross-linker to cross-link glycuronans.
